Hi!
My name is Mandy, and I LOVE beach volleyball.
Yep, I started as an indoor player and converted like a lot of players do to beach volleyball.
I spent 9 years being an indoor setter, playing through high school and university. Then I had the chance to play beach volleyball pairs. When I first made the move, it was definitely an eye-opener. Now having to find my sand legs, needing to be able to dig and hit as well! Now, after playing beach volleyball for over 10 years, it’s safe to say I LOVE it!
Some people meditate and that’s their way of zoning out, but for me, it’s volleyball. Nothing else in the world matters when I’m on the court and in the middle of a game.
Am I the best / most elite player? Clearly not!
But I’ve been there as a beginner/social player, moving to intermediate and competitions in a range of regular fixtures and competitions. Plus, I get the pleasure of being coached by one of the top players in my state! So, I’ve also had exposure to some top players around (plus regular watcher of all the official competitions word wide).
I’m passionate about beach volleyball and this is just the start of how I want to share this passion with the world with others who love the game just as much as me!
Over the years I’ve purchased plenty on dodgy beach volleyballs (yep that’s an Australian term!), other volleyball equipment, clothing and accessories. There is some bad stuff out there, high quality equipment too, and everything in between. It really depends on what you’re looking for, and for me, I want stuff to last! In fact, my current ball has been with me for about 4 years now and still going strong!! 🙂
